I go on vacation for a day and Xbox 360 Fanboy decides to trash talk the PSP. According to their somewhat sensational article, Lumines Live for the Xbox 360 and Lumines II for the PSP are the same game. They bring up a point that Lumines Live will be much cheaper than Lumines II, but I absolutely dare those kids to try lugging their massive Xbox 360 around on the subway. And, let's not forget that they paid $400 for their console, with a power brick the size of a dinosaur.
Ooh... I went there. But in all honesty, does it really matter if something is the "same game" when it involves colored boxes falling from the sky? Don't see too much need for variety there.
[Thanks, steve!]

What exactly is the point of this article? Is PSPFanboy this desperate for material?

It's not that we're that desperate, persay. But when a fellow Fanboy site, or Joystiq, rags on the PSP, we have to defend our honor. Also, it's 1AM here and I might be a bit short on sleep.

I suppose the article is fitting then, by that reasoning. Long live the irrational proliferation of the false honour of victors of game warfare.
Sorry, I'm watching "Alexander" and feeling somewhat poetic.

the point of this article is that yet again, xbox fanboys try to say that they have a oneup on sony, and we bring them back down to where they belong by pointing out how stupid their argument is. like this:
Xbox: i can play the same game as you! now i'm better!
psp: can you take your xbox on a plane and play it too?
Xbox: no, but i'm still better lol!
psp: alrighty then, have fun with your delusions of grandeur

@ alex:
By that example, you could say the exact opposite about Sony. And if your point is to prove that the actions of Microsoft fanboys is ridiculous, and as stated reciprocal, then doesn't that make you a hypocrit?

I would question the journalist credibility of this "article," if it were not on a site with the word fanboy in the title. You just earned an Entitlement for living up to your name! Only kidding guy =P.

Woah there. Since when did claiming to be better then the PSP qualify something as being "grand?" Oh yes, I went there >=D.

Just don't cry to your mama when I spank you with my Lumines skills...
So, who else got every skin in the original? The 999,999 was a pain in the ass huh? I will never think of a Square Dance the same way again...

I wouldn't brag about a 360 game being 'the same' as the portable version. Seems to me that if the console edition isn't offering anything more, then the people paying for it aren't getting much for their money -- In short, the ability to play it anywhere.
I can't even see the point of Lumines or any other puzzler of this type on a console in the first place, unless you're so easily amused that playing tic-tac-toe with yourself occupies your mind for hours on end.
Finally, I own a 360 and a PSP - there's no reason for one group to bash the other. But since this is a FANBOY site, I find it entirely fitting that some sniping go on between the various blogs. They're all part of the Joystiq world, anyway, so what's it matter? Talk about getting panties knotted over nothing.

man what thick headed people. andrew hit the nail on the head : "And, let's not forget that they paid $400 for their console"
besides, who wants to play a puzzler that was/is nice for our current gen on a supposedly "next-gen" console and pay fifteen dollars for it?!
